Technique Sampler | Block of the Month with Susan Madu

This is a 10 month program, with live instruction monthly on the Zoom platform. You will be able to participate live and/or watch the recorded session each month. Susan Madu will teach you how to make each of these spectacular blocks that will put your quilting skills through the roof!  Price of $140 for the entire year includes the pattern which will be mailed to you upon registration. 

Take traditional blocks and put a modern twist on them with this colourful quilt.

*Build/refine your quilter's toolkit of essential skills to increase your piecing accuracy for success in all of your quilting projects.

*Each block demonstrates a different technique.

*Techniques include: Wonky Stars, Curved Friendship Star, Pieced Flying Geese, Split Background Square in a Square, Half Rectangles, Diamond Blocks, Mirror Units and more.

*Big Stitch hand stitched binding technique.

Quilt Size is 56" x 72" or can be downsized to a 56" square quilt and piece your extra blocks into the backing or for a pillow cover. Please note that the yardage requirements of the program are for the full size quilt and our fabric kits are for the full size quilt.

Required Supplies:

*Pattern (included in the program fee)

*Fabric as per the pattern requirements. Choose your own, grab one of our kits or ask for a custom fabric pull.

*Studio 180 Rulers: Tucker Trimmer, Magic Wand, Square 2, Wing Clipper I, Corner Pop, Split Rects (Buy a discounted set here)

*Freezer paper 6 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11"

*Needles for big stitching. We recommend Sashiko needles.

*Fabric marking tool

*Bohin brand or other Fabric Glue Stick

*Monofilament/Invisible Thread

Optional Supplies:

*Acorn Easy Press Seam Align Glue, Easy Press Pen and Fabric Treatment

*Wood pressing bar to press open seams
